Faculty Friday | Effective Zooming WITHOUT Student Video Online
Presented by Professors:
Ben Gracy & Dr. Patricia Portales
10:03 AM - 11:00 AM
Zoom: https://alamo.zoom.us/j/98704673592
Turn those students who are logged-in to Zoom but really absent into students who surprise you by paying thoughtful attention! This session covers 1) why it’s (probably, arguably) better NOT to require students to keep their cameras on in Zoom, 2) classroom management strategies for keeping involvement reasonably high when student cameras are off, and 3) course design strategies to compensate for some inevitable abuse of the cameras-optional policy. These strategies will lower your blood pressure, as we believe, and keep your students engaged.
