Description:
This is not a required course. Participation is voluntary and optional.
This session offers a guided overview of the Online and Traditional Classroom Course (OTC)—the first required step in the STEP: SAC Teaching Excellence Pathway. Participants will explore the course’s asynchronous hybrid format, key Canvas modules, and instructional design strategies that support accessible, student-centered teaching across modalities. The preview highlights how faculty use a Canvas sandbox to apply the SAC Course Layout, align content with learning outcomes, and prepare for course delivery.
Learning Objectives:
- Review the structure and expectations of the OTC course, including self-paced assignments and support options.
- Identify key instructional design strategies embedded in OTC modules, such as alignment, assessment, and accessibility.
- Understand how to apply the SAC Course Layout and Canvas tools to design or redesign a course using a sandbox environment.
