Description :
This is not a required course. Participation is voluntary and optional.
Faculty will learn about ADA/504 regulations and the provision of classroom and testing accommodations for students, including the responsibilities of both the student and the faculty member.
Learning Objectives:

Faculty will understand how the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act apply to Student Accessibility Services.

Faculty will become familiar with common types of disabilities and their accommodations.

Faculty will learn the distinction between academic standards and appropriate accommodations.

Faculty will understand the responsibilities of both students and faculty members regarding accommodations.

Faculty will know how to obtain a Letter of Accommodation and how it applies in the classroom and during testing.

Faculty will familiarize themselves with the Guardian Case Management system.
