In its continued commitment to faculty and student success, San Antonio College has partnered with the Association of College and University Educators ACUE.org to offer courses focused on effective teaching practices this Fall 2021 semester. These courses prepare educators to use research-based techniques shown to help students succeed.

Please look at the options below and talk to your supervisor or department chair about the best course for you. Please submit your application (CLICK HERE) no later than September 5th at 5 PM. 

Inclusive Teaching for Equitable Learning (Micro A September 20th - November 21st)
The Inclusive Teaching for Equitable Learning Microcredential provides instructors with proven strategies to create a more equitable and just learning environment. Educators who complete the requirements for this open enrollment course earn a microcredential in “Inclusive Teaching for Equitable Learning.”
This course does not apply toward earning the full Certificate in Effective College Instruction.  
 
The microcredentials below are part of the full Effective Teaching Practices Credential.
Creating an Inclusive and Supportive Online Learning Environment (Micro B September 20th - November 14th)
The *Creating an Inclusive and Supportive Online Learning Environment microcredential is foundational in teaching you practices that enable you to create an optimal environment to support learning—including how to increase student engagement, embrace diversity and help students persist in meeting academic challenges—in the online learning environment.
 
Promoting Active Learning Online (Micro C October 4th - November 21st)
The *Promoting Active Learning Online microcredential will provide you with practices proven to more actively engage your students in learning and thinking critically—in the online learning environment. 
*These stackable microcredentials lead to a full ACUE Effective Online Teaching Certification. 
 
Please obtain your supervisor/department chair approval before submitting this application. You may only choose one of these courses for this fall. Applications should be submitted no later than September 5th. Click here for the Teaching and Learning ACUE page on the SAC website.
