What general area of research or topics will your students be exploring?: First, they will be working on cause and effect essays, and ultimately they will be writing persuasive essays on controversial subjects.  
What will your students do or create with the sources they find?: Four to five page essays, using research and documentation in MLA format.  
On the day students attend the library class, **at what point will they be** in their research process?: general area of research identified; they will need help narrowing and defining a specific research topic  
Notes (different start/end time, requests, etc.):: Students will need to learn how to access books and database articles for their essays. My particular favorites for their persuasive essays are CQ Researcher and Opposing Viewpoints.
